The Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP) provides support to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and medical residents conducting cancer research at academic institutions within Nova Scotia. A limited number of Traineeship Awards will be offered to outstanding applicants with an interest in cancer research. If you are interested in applying, please contact Cindy Pettipas (902) 494-4513 or admin@bhcri.ca. The deadline for CRTP funding applications has passed. Thank you to all those who applied. Please check back in the Fall to apply for the next CRTP competition.

CRTP Traineeships will normally be offered for a maximum of two years and are offered three times per year. The top applicant of each competition may be awarded one of two Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) Awards: Bruce and Dorothy Rossetti Scholarship in Cancer Research or the Edward F. Crease Memorial Graduate Studentship in Cancer Research; or the Canadian Cancer Society (Nova Scotia Division) Traineeship, depending on the time of year, as only one of these is offered per competition. Part-time trainees are also eligible for awards.

Traineeships are renewable on a yearly basis, subject to receipt of a progress report.

Both CRTP-- funded trainees as well as non-CRTP-funded cancer research graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, medical residents and clinical research fellows may apply for travel awards, which reimburse travel expenses incurred in attending cancer research conferences and seminars to a maximum amount of $1500.00 (CAD).
